| Dear Colleague: | |
| The New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA), in conjunction with the New Jersey Association of Partners in Education (NJAPIE), offers an annual statewide competition for School-Community Partnership Programs. NJAPIE is a non-profit organization representing many schools, businesses, community groups, educators and individual volunteers who work together as partners to help students achieve educational excellence. | |
| On May 14, 2008, district partnership programs and their corporate/community partners will be recognized at the NJASA/NJSBA Annual Spring Conference for their exemplary school-community partnership programs. This year, we are proud to announce that through the generous support of PSE&G, MetLife and the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network, a cash award of $1,000 will be awarded to three winners. We invite school districts or organizations that have a single partnership program or volunteer program to consider submitting their partnership for an award in spring 2008. | |
| The information in this section provides an overview of the Exemplary Partnership Program Award plus eligibility requirements, criteria, and submission instructions for the spring 2008 awards. The deadline for submission is: Friday, April 11, 2008. Please note that in order to be elibible for the cash award, you must be a member of the New Jersey Association of Partners in Education. Click on Become a Member for a membership application. | |
| All submissions will be forwarded to the selection committee of the New Jersey Association of Partners in Education for adjudication and determination of the award winners. We hope that all school districts will strive vigorously to expand their efforts in the area of school-community partnerships. | |
| Sincerely, Richard G. Bozza, Ed.D. Executive Director |
