Purpose:
The purpose of the partnership is to advise, direct, provide and assist
in the implementation of program activities, training, internships and
youth apprenticeships for the students in the health careers program.
The partnership informs the district of the latest trends in the field
and the qualifications needed for these careers. The district has established
a SCCI model which the partnership is instrumental in working with the
district on the delivery of all aspects of the industry awareness and
training for students. The partnership assists the district in providing
a 4 year sequence of occupational courses combined with core curriculum
content standards to produce a graduate who is prepared for the work force
and/or post secondary education.
