Purpose:

• Elementary Students: 1) to stimulate and/or reinforce young students' interest in science, 2) to continue to change the perception of science and scientists, 3) provide role models, 4) to show that what is learned in the classroom can be applied to the world in which we live and work.
• High School Students: To provide experiences that will facilitate educational and/or career decisions. District: To contribute the knowledge and experiences of working scientists to the various processes and programs designed to improve the way in which math, science and technology are taught in the classroom, and to assist in the application of the new workplace readiness standards as described in the Core Curriculum Content Standards.

Benefits:
